Lifecycle and behavior: The female laid eggs on the leaves. They used 6 days to hatch. The larva hibernates as L2. It molts 3 times after hibernation, a total of 4 times. The larval stage lasted around 4 weeks after being taken out of hibernation. The adult larva seemed to prefer to feed on the new shoots of the hostplant. The pupa used 9 days to hatch. The adult butterfly has its main flight period in June into July.
