Pararge aegeria

Hostplant: I used Brachypodium sylvicatum and Milium effusum in my breeding.

Lifecycle and behavior: The female easily laid eggs with the hostplant present. The eggs used 7-8 days to hatch. The larval stages lasted for 4-5 weeks. I unfortunately lost track of the larval stages, but they molted at least 3 times, probably more. Pupal stages lasted 9-10 days. The adults fly in 2 generations, usually from May until August. The pupa hibernates in autumn.
