Lifecycle and behavior: The female laid eggs mostly on the underside of the leaves. The eggs used 4-5 days to hatch. The larva feed on leaves and molts 4 times. The larval stage lasted 2,5 weeks. They hibernate as pupa and used 7-10 days to hatch after being taken out of hibernation. The adult butterfly has its main flight period in the end of May and beginning of June in the south. Further north its closer to July according to different sources.
