Lifecycle and behavior: Eggs are usually laid singularly near the leaf nodes on the hostplant. The egg hatches after about 1 week. The larva ate the leaves of the hostplant, i did not observe them eating the flower buds. They used about 2 weeks from newly hatched to the pre-pupal stage and molted 4 times. The pupal stage lasted for about 2 weeks as well. The adults fly in one generation from early April into September and hibernates as adults in the autumn.
